My name is Noémie and I am the designer behind Noémiah. Recognized for its playful, feminine spirit, the brand embodies an effortless elegance that is full of wit and whimsy. Offered since 2008, my feather jewelry line paved the way for the creation of clothing and accessories. Professional studies (tailoring and alterations, pattern drafting) allowed me to acquire the essential knowledge quality work and to launch my first complete collection of prêt-à-porter in March 2015. My inspiration is different for each collection; regardless of the season, what really gets my creativity flowing is the search for the perfect balance between minimal, clean cuts and feminine, playful touches. For each collection, I collaborate with illustrators to come up with exclusive illustrations that are printed or embroidered on my pieces. Creating printed fabrics is one of my favorite parts of the whole process – the possibilities are endless, and it’s exciting that my line can be so personal.
I'm environmentally conscious throughout my design and production. I choose organic and eco-friendly fabrics and produce quality-made garments that are not mass produced. Garments are entirely produced locally in Montreal, Canada. noémiah supports local economic sustainability by engaging local labour throughout the entire supply chain. All the packaging, labels, tags and envelops are printed material entirely produced locally, in Montreal. noémiah encourage their customers to investing in quality and durability over quantity. I use mostly natural fibers that are renewable and biodegradable, such as wool, cotton, silk and linen. All of my printed fabrics are made in a GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified facility and are Azo free.
Over the years, the line has been sold in prestigious and international reknown stockists, such Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters and has been seen in Vogue, We are selectors, Zeum, Calivintage, Miss Moss, The National Post, The Toronto Star, The Kit, Brides Magazine and at Mercedez Benz Fashion Brisbane Festival.
